Amna Shamima Foundation:
ASF is named after two inspiring women; Mrs. Amna Kamal Minai and Mrs. Shamima-tul-Hussain Raza who were both educationists, besides many other exceptional qualities in them. They believed that all human beings have potential to make their lives better and it is a duty of those who are better equipped, to help others who did not get similar opportunities in their lives. The ASF aspires to stand by and continue this commitment of these two wonderful women!
Our Courses
Education
ASF is working to build a stronger, more resilient and more connected community, and it is a valuable asset to the people it serves. The foundation offers women an opportunity to learn, grow and develop themselves.
Fabric Art
Students learn the art of transforming fabric into functional or decorative items through the power of a needle and thread. It’s a craft that empowers individuals to design and create, providing a sense of accomplishment with each stitch.
Grooming
We believe that imparting different skills related to personal grooming has a profound effect on an individual’s overall development. Besides teaching tools to women on skin care, hair styling, personal hygiene etc., we also hold interactive discussions on basic lifelong behaviors that support overall health and well-being of women.
Mehndi Art
This beginner’s course is intended for women who want to learn the traditional methods of this art form while also pursuing their creative goals. We encourage a collaborative environment where ideas evolve and nurtured to enrich the variety and designs for any occasion.
Art & Craft
The young population of Zakariya Goth is mostly deprived of spaces and formal education systems. Our course offers opportunities to girls aged between 12–15 years for self expression which can boost their confidence and emotional well-being by creating various art forms and use of recycled material.
Technical Training
ASF also offers workshops & training in technical skills such as basic computer course, survey techniques, data collection, teachers training & more. These steps add value in building confidence, employability & community development in Zakariya Goth.
Women’s health session with Raah-e-Amal
We’re thrilled to share that Amna Shamima Foundation recently hosted an informative session on women’s health and mental well-being!
Expert speakers from Raah e Amal, Dr. Fareeda, and Ms. Beenish shared valuable insights on managing depression and anxiety with minimal resources. This session aimed to equip women with the knowledge and tools necessary to prioritize their mental health and overcome challenges. A huge thank you to our speakers and participants for making this session a success!

A session on tree plantation & climate change.
Amna Shamima Foundation hosted a insightful session on the importance of tree plantation in combating climate change. This initiative, in collaboration with Urban Resource Centre and Tree Man Pakistan, brought together a large group of community women.
Through interactive discussions, our participants learned how small actions can make a big difference in creating a better environment. They discovered the critical role they can play in planting trees and contributing to a sustainable future.
We’re proud to empower our community to take charge of their environment!
Internship Program
We are proud to share that ASF has started it’s first internship by taking one Intern on board to assist in compiling database of students. The girl appointed had completed her computer course from ASF in last batch. It’s a 3 months internship for now.
At ASF, we’re passionate about providing women with valuable work experience. Help us make a difference by supporting our internship program – your contribution will fund stipends for our deserving interns.

EVENTS & ACTIVITIES
At ASF our team has set up stalls for community women in Zakariya Goth to visit and buy clothes for children and young girls on nominal prices. All these clothes were made by our students during their sewing and embroidery course. These are available for women throughout Ramzan to help them access stitched clothes for very low costs.

At ASF each day is a celebration of what women achieve as empowered and skilled learners, teachers, managers and support teams. We can proudly say that every day is a women’s day at ASF, carrying forward the mission of two committed and progressive women: Amna and Shamima
During this heartwarming event, certificates of appreciation was awarded to our valued students and contributors, recognizing their unwavering support and commitment. It’s a chance to highlight the incredible impact their efforts have had on our charitable endeavors.
SURVEY TECHNIQUES
In addition with other courses for community women, at ASF we have proudly initiated short training workshops for community women on relevant technical skills. The first workshop started on April 28th focusing on ‘ Introduction of survey techniques for low income settlements ‘. It will be a series of sessions for women to learn different tools about collection of information gathering. They will be given certificates and it will help them not only to build a demographic understanding about their area, but to seek employment as trained surveyors for any govt. or non-govt. surveys. More workshops to follow in near future on different topics that will empower community of Zakariya Goth further.
