What We Do
Our organization is involved in numerous Courses
ASF formally launched its activities in September 2022. The basic idea is simple; the aged and the elderly impart their skills and wisdom to the young. This is done through introducing vocational courses, adult literacy classes, and community events. Foundation’s Skills Development Program was the first to launch including sewing-cutting, embroidery, and mehndi application classes for women. The foundation committed to addressing holistic needs of the people it serves, it also plans to organize medical camps in partnership with doctors and non-governmental organizations which are active in the area and providing computers for the youth was a significant step forward for the organization and helping to expand its reach and impact.
EDUCATION
ASF is working to build a stronger, more resilient and more connected community, and it is a valuable asset to the people it serves. The foundation offers students an opportunity to learn, grow and develop.
Focusing on the education and empowerment of women and girls is indeed a long-term solution that can have a lasting and far-reaching impact. “By working specifically with this population, the institution is not only addressing a significant need, but it is also building trust and goodwill within the community. “The prime objective is to empower women with different skills to explore their potential, as well as to generate income for becoming self-reliant”
FABRIC ART
Are you passionate about design, and creating your own unique garments and accessories? At ASF, we’re here to nurture your skills, helping you transform your creative visions into reality. Our institute is staffed by a team of experienced and talented sewing and stitching experts. They are dedicated to helping you understand the art and craft of sewing from the basics to advanced techniques.
ASF has been able to start its programme with 10 sewing machines and two batches of 20 students. The sewing classes provide an opportunity for students to learn a valuable skill that can improve their future prospects, and the fact that two batches of 20 students each have already started, shows that there is significant interest and demand for these kinds of programmes. “This shows that even with limited resources, it is possible to make a positive impact in the community,”
MEHNDI ART
Our comprehensive six-months beginner’s course is intended for women who want to learn the traditional methods of this age-old art form while also pursuing their creative goals. Besides developing their skills, women also gain a thorough understanding of the cultural origins of henna by being guided through its various stages and forms in each session. We encourage a collaborative environment where ideas evolve and nurtured to enrich the variety and designs for any occasion.
HAND EMBRIODERY
Are you passionate about creating beautiful, intricate designs with a needle and thread? Do you dream of mastering the delicate art of hand embroidery?
ASF boasts a team of experienced and skilled hand embroidery artists who are enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge. They are dedicated to guiding you from the fundamentals to advanced techniques. Our courses are designed for individuals of all skill levels, from beginners seeking a creative outlet to experienced embroiderers looking to hone their craft. You’ll explore a wide range of embroidery styles, patterns, and stitches, ensuring a well-rounded education.We believe in learning by doing. Our classes are practical, offering you the opportunity to practice, refine your skills, and gain confidence in creating stunning hand-embroidered pieces.
ART & CRAFT
Beautiful creations of our arts and crafts course students. The kids are very enthusiastic and asking us to increase their class timings. We are so thankful to God for giving us the insight to contribute in fulfilling the dreams of these young girls. Please keep praying for us to carry on and do try to raise support for ASF.
PERSONAL GROOMING
We believe that imparting different skills related to personal grooming has a profound effect on an individual’s overall development. Besides teaching tools to women on skin care, hair styling, personal hygiene etc., we also hold interactive discussions on basic lifelong behaviors that support overall health and well-being of women.
SURVEY TECHNIQUES
In addition with other courses for community women, at ASF we have proudly initiated short training workshops for community women on relevant technical skills. The first workshop started on April 28th focusing on ‘ Introduction of survey techniques for low income settlements ‘. It will be a series of sessions for women to learn different tools about collection of information gathering. They will be given certificates and it will help them not only to build a demographic understanding about their area, but to seek employment as trained surveyors for any govt. or non-govt. surveys. More workshops to follow in near future on different topics that will empower community of Zakariya Goth further.
